The Blue Trail

Walking this trail is a nice and relatively easy trail the trail is well marked and relatively quite considering a major road runs adjacent to it. The beginning part of the trail is a bit beat up and in need of some repair but the deepest part of the trail is much better as the trail reveal its view of a large wet land eco system. This will be a great hike in the fall as well when the trees shed their leaves and the views become more dramatic

A day on my Bike

What A day for a ride though a short ride became a bit longer due to the many stops I made but I think that's the point of riding for me I don't find or describe myself as a technical rider who is training for the Tour De France. I don't wear the black bike shorts and brightly colored racing jersey unlike my fellow road bike warriors I choose old tee shirts cagro pants and my trusty foot gear crocs. My heart rate monitor is now in my gym bag and replaced it with a camera and glad I did. I am now beginning to appreciate the solace a bike ride can bring and the down time to think about what life has in store.

White trail Pictures

The White trail in Farmington is a quick but quite loop though the beginning part of the trail is muddy and ripe for mosquito's. The white trail is quick and visible though the white trail blaze is a bit faded and need of repair as I continue on the path there are some fallen trees blocking the path. I will need to do more hiking on these trails to find some of the hidden treasures yet to be found.

The zip lines were so much fun! It was a rainy but pleasant day and the 2 hours in the trees was a great experience.

A couple of days at the beach

We had a great couple of days at the beach with my daughter (L) her friend (C) and (R) my nephew. Our home for two nights and three days was the good ole Coleman tent the weather was cool and dry as we sat on the beach throughout the day. We lathered up in sunblock but proved to be futile because we all experienced some degree of sunburn but it was all worth it as we swam in the ocean throughout the entire day. The sunset was beautiful and the evening was cool and comfortable for sleep overall a great couple of days

Hello, I'm siting on the back deck enjoying the day as I go through my blackberry and upload all of the pictures to my laptop. I find there is a underlining theme of being outside though pretty boring to some I find it pretty relaxing. I am alone to ponder my thoughts and reflect on the beauty of the moment as walk through the woods. This is one of my favorite places to hike is such a great respite in the middle of the hike the cool airr and spray of water fills the air as you sit and enjoy the sound of the water falling into the pool of black water from a smooth boulder at the edge of the fall. The second area is a pond that I visit where these water lilies pics were taken along with my daughter who is now showing greater interest in hiking and taking pictures is pretty exciting to see and She is also the photographer of my profile picture on this blog (thanks Gab) on this hike.

Cape Cod Camping

Well we had a great weekend on the cape the sun was bright and the wind was from the north -west. The weekend was quite and the tourists were minimal Ray and I spent the day together as we explored the coast with 50 other scouts and their fathers or guardians and the lone Uncle me. The weekend was filled with laughs and songs around the campfire I look forward to the next trip.
My family along with my wife's twin sister and her husband wet to the city to take in the sights and sounds of the city. We had such a good time a we started off in little Italy for pizza and cappuccinos with maybe a cookie or two but the city was waiting and we needed the energy to make it across the city and to fight the crowds in Rockefeller center. The air was brisk as we hiked the busy street the smells of the city both good and bad filled the air. The sounds of the city buzzed through my ears including the sound of the traffic and the chatter of the street vendors selling their wares to the naive tourists like myself. Though I have visited the city many times before it always seem like its my first time and all of my senses are placed into overdrive. What amazes me is how I am bombarded with the energy the city gives off its a hum that goes though out your entire being. We all felt it as we walked to our planned destinations it was a bonding experience for all of us as we talked about the sights and sounds we were experiencing together. I look forward to next year pilgrimage back to the city

Thank you

Sitting here in front of the computer screen I contemplate the future and hope for good things to happen but as begin to realize so many great things have happened to me already that I forget how very lucky I am. I have been blessed with a supportive family which starts with my my dear mother and for not her and and my deceased father I would not be here. As I left home I met my wife who has been so supportive of all my my successes and helped me through some of my greatest missteps through the years. Our greatest success as a couple is our two beautiful daughters Lynsey and Gabrielle. These two young women are the greatest testament to our relationship and are the center of our world. I have felt no greater love then what I have felt for these three women. I have always tried to be there for my girls and to share in vast wonders of what life brings and to be the father that I had hoped my father could have been ...God rest his soul. I want to thank these incredible women for giving me the gift of family and an unconditional love which would take me two lifetimes to repay.
